I'M HOME! I can't say that and post it from anywhere else, so there it is before I leave tomorrow.
Everyone else is in bed. I'm in the library. The fire died out a long time ago, not even the embers are glowing anymore. But the Christmas tree is up. Dad bought the blinking lights this year, and they're doing their thing. I just finished a draft and forgot to drink my tea in the process. I'm happy the draft is done, but I'm a little sad since I really like tea. I love these moments of stillness between frenzy when I can actually recall the reason for the frenzy and be thankful for it. Right now, resumes, internships, contacts, Malaysia, investments, bank accounts, weddings, stories, and poetry don't really matter. I'm just a girl with her feet on an ottoman drinking out of a snowman mug trying to remember when I made that ornament my cat just whacked off the tree. Fifth grade, I think. It's nice to just be at home. It's nice to just be. Try it sometime.
